Tour Plan
Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you will be received and begin a scenic drive towards the Indo–Bhutan border town of Phuentsholing. The journey passes through the lush tea gardens of North Bengal and the foothills of the Himalayas. After completing immigration formalities at the border, check in to your hotel in Phuentsholing. The evening is free for rest or a relaxed walk around the town. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
After breakfast, drive northwards to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. The road gradually climbs through beautiful valleys, waterfalls, and forested hills along the Wang Chhu River. En route, enjoy the changing landscapes as you move from subtropical lowlands to cool mountain terrain. On arrival in Thimphu, check in to your hotel. The evening can be spent exploring Thimphu town or visiting local markets. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Today is dedicated to sightseeing in Thimphu. Visit key attractions such as the National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma statue, Tashichho Dzong, Folk Heritage Museum, and the Institute for Zorig Chusum (Traditional Arts and Crafts School). You may also visit the Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s national animal. The day provides a good insight into Bhutanese culture, religion, and daily life. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 m). On a clear day, the pass offers spectacular views of the eastern Himalayas and the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens. Descend into the warmer Punakha Valley and visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Later, check in to your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Punakha.
This morning, depart Punakha and drive to Paro, retracing your route via Dochula Pass and continuing towards the Paro Valley. On arrival, check in to your hotel and proceed for sightseeing, including visits to Rinpung Dzong, Ta Dzong (National Museum), and a walk around Paro town. The valley’s serene atmosphere and traditional architecture make for a pleasant evening. Overnight stay in Paro.
After breakfast, you have the option to hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most famous landmark, perched dramatically on a cliffside. The hike takes approximately 4–5 hours round trip and is a spiritual highlight of the journey. Alternatively, you may opt for a half-day excursion to Chele La Pass, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan, offering panoramic mountain views and a relaxing drive. Overnight stay in Paro.
After breakfast, begin your drive back to Phuentsholing. The long but scenic journey descends from the high valleys of western Bhutan back to the subtropical lowlands. On arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure, preparing for departure the next day. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
After breakfast, complete exit formalities and drive to Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey, carrying with your memorable experiences of Bhutan’s landscapes, culture, and hospitality.

- Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary/ stay on account of flight cancellation due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks, and/or any factors beyond control.
- Any other tax or service charge, stay charge that could be enforced during this period will be extra and need to be borne by Participants.

For any legal matter involving the company, parties hereto agree to confer exclusive jurisdiction to Mumbai Courts / Forums. - The Above itinerary can be shuffled in cases of climatic conditions, and any cancellation, closing of sightseeing for weekly maintenance & public holiday.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:
If for some reason you wish to cancel your trek/ event then an email intimation needs to be sent to “info@wanderingexplorers.in”. Cancellation requests are not taken over phone, however you can phone to check whether your cancellation has been processed.
- Cancellation on or before 61 days from date of Departure: 20% Charges + Non-Refundable Permit or special bookings or service paid on your behalf.
- Cancellation on or before 46 to 60 days from date of Departure: 25% Charges + Non-Refundable Permit or special bookings or service paid on your behalf.
- Cancellation on or before 16 to 45 days from date of Departure: 50% Charges + Non-Refundable Permit or special bookings or service paid on your behalf.
- Cancellation on or before 15 days from date of Departure to On Tour: 100% Charges. No Refunds.
- In case if a participant is unable to join a trek/event at the last moment, then participant will not get any refund.
- Balance refund paid by the guest within 10 working days of cancellation of the tour.
***Cancellation in unavoidable circumstances:
Considering the safety of the tourists, we are compelled to postpone/ reschedule the tour under force majeure situation or due to uncontrollable factors at the destination, however guest/s do not wish to continue and cancel the tour:
- Wandering Explorer reserves the right to cancel/ postpone/ reschedule any tour under force majeure situation like natural calamity, epidemic, pandemic, terrorist activities, political unrest, curfews, local riots, government orders etc. or uncontrollable factors like airline operation/ schedule change, disruption due to political/ sports/ local/ VIP event etc. at the destination considering the safety of the tourists.
- Under any such force majeure situation/ uncontrollable factors, no refund – fully or partially will be applicable. As refund is not applicable, guests will be required to choose the next possible future date of the same tour. If there is any price difference for the future tour, guests will have to pay the same before the tour departure.
- To reschedule the tour in force majeure situation/ uncontrollable factors, Wandering Explorer swill send the request to all the concerned associates like airlines, hoteliers, transporters etc. for their cooperation and assistance in postponement of the services. In case these associates are not in a position to consider the request, then actual cancellation charges may apply.

If a guest wants to change the destination, then the decision will depend on the cooperation of the associates like airlines, hoteliers, transporters etc. Such a decision will require time and will be given as early as possible. If the selected tour’s price is more, then guests will have to pay the difference before the tour departure. In case the tour price is less, then the remaining amount will be kept in a credit shell with Offbeat Gateways. No refund is applicable for the credit shell.
