Goecha la Trek is the exhilarating one. Along with stunning view of the third highest mountain range of the world, Kanchenjunga, it evokes a sense of self. Trail to Goecha La pass is all about nature’s impeccable marvels.
From the enchanting forest of Kanchenjunga National Park to the serene landscapes of Tshoka the uphill climb to Goecha la pass is absolute wilderness. Standing at the Goecha La pass (around 15,000 ft) witnessing the giant massifs of Kanchenjunga Mountain range will leave you speechless. Hike through Himalayan Forest, pristine rivers and lakes, babbling streams and wondrous waterfalls along the trail are the utmost features of Goecha la trek Sikkim.
The next level you will endure, is the ascend to rugged terrain of Dzongri. The most mesmerizing mountain views and glacier lake are the ultimate points of Dzongri Goechala trek. The indelible view of Kanchenjunga (28169 ft), Talung (24,111 ft) and Kabru (24,318 ft) along the several other massifs is the paramount.
The descend through the same marvels again to Yuksam will revive you again. One will leave Sikkim with the exhilarating memories of lifetime.

Tour Plan
Bagdogra Airport/ NJP to Yuksom (150 km drive, 7 hrs)
Meet our co-ordinator at Bagdogra Airport around 12 pm. You will be pickup from airport/ NJP railway staion and leave for Yuksam. Stay at Yuksam (5,840 ft).
Yuksom to Sachen (Trek: 7.50 km/ 6 - 7 hours; Altitude Gain: 5,840 ft to 7,400 ft)
It’s first day of the trek. We will be through lush green surroundings, thick forest and surprisingly come across old bridges, waterfalls and appealing valley of river Rathong. Initial gradual climb later turns to steep ascend to Sachen.
Sachen camp location is a tiny clearing amidst forest marked with wooden shelters and forest huts.
Sachen to Tshoka (Trek: 6.50 km/ 5 - 6 hours; Altitude Gain: 7,400 ft to 9,790 ft)
Our third day destination is Tshoka. A teraain with moderate gradient initially through the forest, soon switchbacks as you reach river Prek. We will stop at Bakhim village to revive self. Later the trail opens up with a gradual climb till Tshoka.
We can take a short hike to Monastery from the campsite and enjoy the view of the Kanchenjuna range and Mt. Pandim.
Tshoka to Dzongri (Trek: 8.40 km/ 6 - 7 hours; Altitude Gain: 9,790 ft to 13,190 ft)
Today is the enduring trek to Dzongri. You Ensure you layer yourself suitably after reaching the campsite. The winds are quite fierce here and it can get quite cold in the nights.
Dzongri - Acclimatization day. Dzongri Top walk and back.
(Trek: 2 km/ 2 hours; Altitude Gain: 13,190 ft to 13,670 ft & back to 13,190 ft)
We will camp in wee hours for a short hike to Dzongri top. Witness the first sunray striking the beautiful mountain range. Get the 180° panoramic view of the surrounding mountain peaks.
Spend a night under the starry sky, and get enough sleep to gear up for a thrilling day ahead.
Dzongri to Thansing (Trek: 6.55 km/ 6 - 7 hours; Altitude: 13,190 ft to 12,910 ft)
After breakfast start trek towarda Kokchurang. A steep descent for two hours nad later continuous hike to Tansing.
The campsite is located right at the foot of Mt. Pandim making it one of the delightful camping experiences of the Geochala Trek.
Tansing to Lamuney (Trek: 3 km/ 2 - 3 hours; Altitude Gain: 12,910 ft to 13,600 ft)
The trail with view of Mount Kanchenjunga and other peaks is a spellbinding. Follow the trail and you will find yourself at the Lamuey.
One can visit Samiti lake, a short climb for an hour.
Lamuney to Goechala & back to Kokchurang
(Trek: 16 km/ 12 hours; Altitude Gain: 13,600 ft to 15,100 ft and back to 12,100 ft)
Today is the rewarding day of the all the hardship and efforts done so far. We will start our trek at earliest by 3 am. The early start insures you will reach View Point 1 in time to witness the golden hour. The first rays of rising Sun impact the Kanchenjunga mountain range to dazzling golden colour, an enthralling moment of life time.
Its moment of accomplishment with overwhelming joy standing in face of worlds third highest peak and surrounding massifs. Capture your moments and we will be back to Kokchurang camp.
Kokchurang to Tshoka (Trek: 13 km/ 9 hours; Altitude: 12,100 ft to 9,790 ft)
A rather flat trail to Phedang and then a steep descent will take you to Tshoka. Carry atleast 2 lit water to keep hydrated as there is no source to refill bottles.
Tshoka to Yuksom (Trek: 13 km/ 6 hours; Altitude: 9,790 ft to 5,840 ft)
As the descent is steep, a faster trek to down to Sachen as compared to the hike. Later the few miles to Yuksam can be be covered in much less time.
Stay at Yuksom.
Yuksom to Bagdogra/ NJP (150 km drive, 7 hrs)
Travel back with feeling of accomplishment.
Stay at Bagdogra.
Back to Home
Drop at Bagdogra airport/ NJP railway station.

- Any kind of insurance.
- Porterage to carry personal backpack (offloading charges)
- Tips, Local Sightseeing and anything which is not specifically mentioned in the cost inclusions.
- If participants do not want to continue Trek once arrived OR participant is not physically fit and want to stay in Hotel then participant shall bear all the cost of stay and food.
- Any additional Expenses/ cost incidental to any change in the itinerary / stay caused by reason beyond our control such as Natural Calamities (Landslides, Floods etc.), any accidents, medical evacuations, riots, strikes, evacuation costs, flight cancellation, etc.
- Participants who return in the middle of trek for any kind of reason whatsoever once we leave for the same from base camp, shall bear all the cost including transportation, stay, food etc.
- Any kind of refund for unutilised tour plan services.
- Any other tax or service charge, stay charge that could be enforced during this period will be extra and need to be borne by Participants.
- Any service not specifically mentioned in the Includes sections.
Important Note:
- All travelers are advised to purchase travel insurance that provides care and services for sickness, Accidents, emergency rescue, etc. We shall not be responsible for the loss of personal assets and belongings of the travelers due to unavoidable reasons or mishaps.
- Carry appropriate substitution medicines for individuals allergic to any of above
- Avoid medication such as sleeping tablets, sedatives, strong painkillers, and antihistamines which depress the respiration and increase the risk of (AMS – Active Mountain Sickness) especially while sleeping
- Offloading Charges – Rs. 3500/- per bag (limit to 10 kg only). Offloading charges shall be paid in cash before start of the trek. Offloading charges will be non refundable and non transferable at any circumstances.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
If for some reason you wish to cancel your trek/ event then an email intimation needs to be sent to “info@wanderingexplorers.in”. Cancellation requests are not taken over phone, however you can phone to check whether your cancellation has been processed.
- In case if participant cancelled booking before 31 days in advance from the date of joining, then participant will get a refund of 75%.
- In case if participant cancelled booking between 30 to 21 days in advance from the date of joining, then participant will get a refund of 50%.
- In case if a participant is unable to join a trek/event at last movement or cancelled booking in less than 21 days in advance from the date of joining, then participant will not get any refund.
- No Refund or Compensation for any changes on the ongoing event.
- No Refund of any kind for unutilised tour plan services.
- A refund will be given after 15 days of completion of the trek /event.
- We owns (or reserve) the right to apply cancellation charges; if the trek/ event cancelled before leaving for the trek/ event by any reason beyond our control such as Natural Calamities (Heavy Rains, Storms, Landslides, Floods, and Pandemic, etc.) or any unforeseen incidents like road accidents, public transport cancellation/ failure, Government declared restrictions, strikes and Bandhs, etc. We shall not be liable for any other kind of loss.
