Gorakhgad is located along the Bhimashankar range of Sahyadri. The fort still holds interesting remnants like ancient temple, rock cut steps through a tunnel, huge caves along rock cut water cisterns and the sky-high pinnacle. The fort was not only used to keep vigil on the surrounding area, but also provides a safe halt location during the journey to Junnar via Naneghat.
The hike to the fort is exciting, the initial trail traverses through dense forest, later ascending rock cut steps and further through a tunnel, carved out from the rock.
As you ascend further, will reach to base of a pinnacle. There are caves at the pinnacle base, one among these is a one cave huge enough to accommodate a large group.
You can enjoy the surrounding view of Ahupe ghat, adjacent Machchindragad, Naneghat, Jivdhan fort and Sidhagad at the sunrise.

Meet us at Kalyan railway station, near west side main ticket counters. Start our journey by local vehicle towards Dehri (1½ hour, 55 km). We will have dinner enroute and reach base village within 2½ - 3 hours. There will be introduction round and briefing about the trek.
After a briefing we will start our trek to Gorakhgad. Initial path traverses through the dense forest cover. Soon we will reach Kalbhairav Temple, short break for 10 minutes. After the short break, the trek continues till we reach the rock cut steps and the main entrance door. Further from the entrance door, you will ascend the rock steps through a tunnel. Soon you will reach at the base of pinnacle. Rest here till sunrise. Enjoy the panoramic view of sunrise from the cave. The next we will go to the top of the fort. The way to top is a rock cut steps almost at 80° straight up. There are grooves on steps to hold while going up/ down. You will carefully follow the instruction to ascend the top and coming back to cave. After coming back to cave, we will start descend to base. We will reach Dehri within 2½ hours. After breakfast we will leave for Kalyan. Catch a train to your home from Kalyan station. Trek ends here with lots of thrilling memories.

- Any kind of refund for unutilised tour plan services.
- Additional Expenses/ cost incidental to any change in the itinerary / stay caused by reason beyond our control such as Natural Calamities (Land Slides, Floods etc.), any accidents, medical evacuations, riots, strikes, evacuation costs, flight cancellation, etc.
- Any other tax or service charge, stay charge that could be enforced during this period will be extra and need to be borne by Participants.
- Any service not specifically mentioned in the INCLUSIONS.

- Catch the train on time, if you miss the train you will miss the trek without any refund.

Important note:
- Strictly No Deodorants/ perfumes while on trek. You may use it only when we finish the trek.
- It is a trek, and not a picnic.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
If for some reason you wish to cancel your trek/ event then an email intimation needs to be sent to “info@wanderingexplorers.in”. Cancellation requests are not taken over phone, however you can phone to check whether your cancellation has been processed.
- In case if participant cancelled booking before 15 days in advance from the date of joining, then participant will get a refund of 50% excluding insurance charges.
- In case if participant cancelled booking between 14 to 8 days in advance from the date of joining, then participant will get a refund of 25% excluding insurance charges.
- In case if a participant is unable to join a trek/event at last moment or cancelled booking in less than 8 days in advance from the date of joining, then participant will not get any refund.
- No Refund or Compensation for any changes on the ongoing event.
- No Refund of any kind for unutilised tour plan services.
- A refund will be given after 15 days of completion of the trek /event.
- We owns (or reserve) the right to apply cancellation charges; if the trek/ event cancelled before leaving for the trek/ event by any reason beyond our control such as Natural Calamities (Heavy Rains, Storms, Landslides, Floods, and Pandemic, etc.) or any unforeseen incidents like road accidents, public transport cancellation/ failure, Government declared restrictions, strikes and Bandhs, etc. We shall not be liable for any other kind of loss.
